High Intensity Focal Ultasound (HIFU) treatments:

What is HIFU for Facial Lifting?

  • HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure designed to lift and tighten the skin on the face and neck.

  • It works by delivering focused ultrasound energy deep into the skin layers, stimulating collagen production and tissue regeneration.

  • The result is a firmer, more youthful appearance without surgery or downtime.

Benefits of 3D HIFU Facial Lifting

  • Precision & Depth Control:

  • The 3D technology allows targeting multiple skin layers simultaneously, including the superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS), which is the layer surgeons manipulate during a facelift.

  • Non-invasive:

  • No incisions or injections, reducing risk and recovery time.

  • Collagen Boost:

  • Stimulates natural collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture and elasticity over time.

  • Natural-Looking Results:

  • Gradual improvement over 2-3 months, with results lasting up to a year or more.

  • Minimal Downtime:

  • Most patients resume normal activities immediately.

Typical Treatment Areas

  • Jawline tightening and contouring

  • Lifting of cheeks and mid-face

  • Reduction of nasolabial folds

  • Tightening under the chin and neck

  • Brow lifting

What to Expect During and After the Procedure

  • The treatment usually takes about 30-60 minutes.

  • You may feel mild discomfort or warmth during the ultrasound delivery.

  • Some slight redness or swelling can occur but typically resolves within a few hours.

  • No anesthesia needed.

Ideal Candidates

  • People with mild to moderate skin laxity.

  • Those looking for a non-surgical alternative to facelifts.

  • Not suitable for individuals with severe sagging or those with certain medical conditions (consultation required).

Common Side Effects

Most side effects from HIFU facial treatments are mild and temporary:

  • Redness:
Skin may appear red or flushed immediately after treatment but usually fades within a few hours.

  • Swelling:
Mild swelling can occur, typically resolving within 1-3 days.

  • Tenderness or soreness:
The treated areas might feel tender, similar to a mild sunburn or muscle soreness for a few days.

  • Tingling or numbness:
Some patients report a tingling sensation or slight numbness, which generally resolves within a few days to weeks.

  • Bruising:
Rare but possible, especially if small blood vessels near the skin’s surface are affected.
  •  Skin type and sensitivity:
More sensitive skin might react more with redness or swelling.

Less Common / Rare Side Effects

  • Temporary nerve irritation:
This can cause slight numbness or muscle weakness but usually resolves within a few weeks.

  • Burns or blisters:
Very rare, but can occur if the ultrasound energy is not properly controlled or administered.

  • Scarring:
Extremely rare, typically related to burns or improper treatment technique.

  • Paradoxical effect:
In very rare cases, there might be temporary worsening of skin laxity or unevenness before improvement is seen.

Post-Treatment Care to Reduce Side Effects

  • Avoid heavy makeup and harsh skincare products for 24 hours.

  • Use gentle moisturizers and sunscreen.

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and heat (like saunas) for a few days.

  • Follow your practitioner’s specific aftercare instructions.
